Experiencing the loss of someone important to us is characterised by grief.

Grief is the process and the range of emotions we go through as we gradually try and adjust to the loss.

Losing someone important to us can be emotionally devastating – whether that be a partner, family member, friend, or pet.

The thoughts and feelings around bereavement are usually pushed away from the forefront of our minds and can be a very difficult subject to share.

“Bereavement for me was never fully understanding the impact of losing my father. Until I realised I was stuck in that moment of loss because I never wanted to let go of the person, I loved.”

“Bereavement for me was having an overwhelming feeling of numbness. I felt like my whole world had been ripped apart. Toby was more than just a pet.”

“Bereavement for me was totally unexpected. If only I had known, I might have been able to make a difference. I feel so guilty.”
